Instructions

With Trace I made a scan of the caliper. This gave a pretty good starting point, but I needed to adjust it in Fusion to close 'open ends' and to make it fit since the Trace frame was too small to caputure the whole caliper. I cleared the big pockets in the black walnut with the 16mm rough clearing bit. For the Aspen inlay and the finishing cuts in the walnut I used the 6mm bit. Depending on your available wood you can offcourse adjust the depths. The hinges I used: https://baptist.nl/meubelbeslag/scharnieren-paumelles/inboorscharnier-o14mm-messing Overall: it was challenging to make the Trace scan 'workable' in Fusion and I learned a lot there. The 16mm rough clearing bit was a big help to speed up the process. In the end it was a fun project and great learning expierence!
