Instructions

Firstly, I have no use for these rosettes. I've been designing them for another Shaper user so this one is really only proof of concept. I used WS and a 10mm thick oak board as stock. Order of operations: With SVG rosette 68mm 1 and a small round nosed bit I dished our the surface of the rosette from outer edge to the 3mm deep cuts. The new transfer option for encoded cut depths is very handy for this. I also set each finished cut path to guide so the tool automatically finds the next nearest cut path. Switching to the tapered bit I continued cutting from outside to the centre, from 6mm deep to 0mm, creating the centre boss of the rosette. N.B. This is the best time to sand any machining marks off the dished surface. (I didn't and it was way harder later.) With SVG rosette 68mm 3 placed at exactly the same co-ordinates I chucked up a 1.5mm bit and cut the petal outlines as an inside cut. Switching to a pocket cut, you can clear out the little triangles left between each petal tip. I also switched to an outside cut and separated the rosette from the stock at this point. With SVG rosette 68mm 4 placed at exactly the same co-ordinates (obvious really) and an 8mm round nosed bit set to 2.8mm deep, I concaved the petals. Sanding and waxing and voila!
