1/4 inch plywood. About 1”x2” is needed for each unit.
Shaper origin, 1/16 inch bit
Standard setup, nothing out of the ordinary. If you are skilled enough with the shaper you can just about pack the pieces into a 1”x2” rectangle. Set the depth to 1/4 inches. Set the bit radius to 1/16 Autopass will do this in 5 passes by default. Notes: You may want to flip one of the sides. This is important if you are using stock that is only sanded on one side. Otherwise you will get one sanded, one unsanded side. I only prototyped this project to make sure it worked. I did have to sand all the joints a minor amount so I could properly fit everything. I would suggest using a very small offset on all the cuts I would recommend only using outside cuts. I had set the circular cutouts to inside cuts and failed to switch back to outside when I started cutting one of the sides. I did correct for that before I got too far however there is a mark you can see on the bottom front edge of one of the sides. Outside cuts for the circle cutouts would have been perfectly adequate. A final note: For the bottom and back pieces I recommend a -.001 outside offset to help the sides fit better into those 2 pieces without needing to sand.
