I used this project to learn learn how to create files for epoxy and inlay projects with Studio. All files are included: initial PNG, modified JPG, and initial SVG along with the actual pocket and piece files for a tri-color design. One of the colors can be the base wood (see Epoxy.jpg) or all three colors can be inlaid into the base wood. This is my first effort so the files require a little sanding to have the inlays fit into the pockets.

General Procedure: Epoxy 1. Cut Pocket for White 2. Pour White Epoxy 3. Cut Pocket for Yellow 4. Pour Yellow Epoxy 5. Cut Pocket for Purple 6. Mix Red and Blue pigment to get shade of Purple desired 7. Pour Purple Epoxy By cutting one layer at a time you can get epoxy colors right next to each other. Shaper will cut epoxy and hide minor issues with pocket file. This allows you to get very sharp narrow details (see glint of eye). Inlay into Purple Heart 1. Cut base pocket using eraser file. 2. Fit Purple Heart into pocket and glue 3. Cut White Inlay shapes using 0 offset 4. Cut Yellow Inlay shapes using 0 offset 5. Cut Pocket for Yellow (mine fit using -.005 offset) 6. Fit Yellow Inlays and glue 7. Cut Pocket for Poplar Inlays (mine fit using -.005 offset) 8. Fit Poplar Inlays and glue Use grid to locate pockets on base board. Shouldn’t have to move base board from work station, but if you do you can get it back in place. Purple Heart can be inlayed if desired. Files included. Let glue dry before cutting. I used 1/4” material for inlays because I had it and it was more forgiving (stronger on thin parts). Eye Glint was cut out except last 0.03” left tab. This could easily be removed with chisel and not lose small part to vacuum. Errors in files require minor sanding or use of smaller bit. Fixed many of these but also missed some.
