Materials

3/4" hardwood material for the board (Maple).

1/4" hardwood inlay pieces ( Walnut and Cherry)

Tools

Shaper Origin

1/8" Cutter

1/4" Cutter or bigger for the pocket

Instructions

For the cutting board, I used an unfinished board of Maple 3/4" X 8" X 10" . Cut the inlays with the 1/8" cutter on the Workstation. Three passes with an offset of 0.2mm ( or 0.01") + one finishing pass with no offset. On an other workplan, cut the pocket in the board with a 3/4" cutter in 2 passes. The last pass should include the depth for the glue gap. Make a first inside cut of the pocket with a 1/4" cutter with a generous roughing offset. Again 2 passes including the glue gap. Finish the inside contour with 1/8" cutter. Three passes with an offset of 0.2mm and a fourth pass with no offset. If needed after a dry fit, you could add a negative tiny fitting offset on the pocket.
