Instructions

EDIT 8/28/22: I attached the Affinity Designer file in case someone wants to use the design as base for their own f. ex. table inlay, different diameter, etc. For any questions or request please feel free to reach out to CEK_88@icloud.com --- Make sure to measure your dust collection pipe before cutting, the SVG is set to 4", use offsets to fit yours! Mill out magnet pockets, inside and outer shape of the connector. Give inner and outer shape a 5/16 (or similar) roundover. Its important that the magnets alternate orientation N-S-N-S and so on. Your magnets will most likely form some sort of "stick" when you have them in your hand. Put a drop of glue into every other magnet pocket and press a magnet inside, flip around your magnet "stick" to take from the other end, fill remaining pockets with glue and fill in the remaining magnets. Press all magnets with a clamp to make sure they are flush or better slightly below the surface. If the magnets don't alternate the quick connector will not work correctly! Cut 2" blanks from the dust collection pipe of your choice (I used Powertec clear 4" pipe.). Proceed to give the inside a 5/16 (or similar) roundover. On one end also round over the outside. This end will be facing your dust collection hose, the sole purpose of the roundover is to smoothen it. Alternatively. you can use sandpaper to smoothen the edges. Press and glue the sharp end into the quick connector, after giving the glue some time to cure, the inside gets a 1/4 roundover. If you wish, apply some kind of finish to the MDF. --- You can make plugs by leaving the center of the quick connector solid.
