Got kids who can't quite reach the light switch? This project will help. It allows you to use the existing screws that are on the switch plate. They ride in a slot. This particular file has a heart shape on the lower end so little fingers can push or pull the switch. You could change that shape to whatever fits your child.

Instructions

All cuts use an 1/8" bit and through the entire depth of the material except the outside portion of the screw slot. That cut should only go about 1/2 way through the material. It's intended to create a shoulder for the screw head. This file should work on any standard light switch plate or on one side of a double switch plate. You could create any sort of fun shape at the lower end to serve as a place to push/pull the switch.
