1) Cut out the animal shapes and rattle pieces. 2) Using a carpenter's square, mark where you want the dowel to cross through. Then add markings on the sides so that you can use a 17/64 drill bit to drill entry and exit holes for the dowel with a drill press or hand held drill. 3) Once everything has been sanded, put a little wood glue in the holes. Using the rubber mallet, drive the dowel through the rattle until about halfway. Add the smaller "rattle pieces" onto the dowel and then continue to drive the dowel through the rattle so that there is excess on both sides. 4) Clean up excess glue and then use a flush saw to trim the excess wood from the dowels. 5) Finish with mineral oil!
