Materials

All stock is 3/4” material. I had a great opportunity to buy aromatic cedar for a low price. Any standard 3/4” stock will work. All measurements are in inches.

Instructions

Rails are 24” before ½” tenons are cut on each end. Side rails are 6 1/2” long before tenons. For the top I chose to make a tray of cedar and rimming it. Top it as you see fit. Shaper was used to make the mortices, tenons, and half circles on the racks. The front and back mortices for the 2 supports and rack boards were set back to 5/8” so a ¼ inch reveal is seen. That is a style choice, feel free to change it to further back or flush. Side supports were designed to be flush on the side. The top side supports, and top rails are designed to be flush with the top. The tenons are rounded rectangles measuring 1” x 3/8” with a 1/8” radius and are 1/2” long and centered on the rack rails. These match the 1” x 3/8” mortices that I used a -.003 offset to Back mortices centers are at 5 ¾”, 11 1/2”, 17”, 22 3/4” for the racks and 27 ¼” for the top rail. The front mortice centers are at 3 ¾”, 9 ¾”, 14 ¾”, 20 ¼” for the racks and 27 ¼” for the top rail. These are all measured from the bottom of the side supports. I also used a old wide white melamine shelf with Shaper tape repeatedly to mass cut the mortices.
