Tools

- Shaper Origin

- Track Saw or Table Saw

- Less Recommended: Router and 45 degree chamfer bit

- Highly Recommended: UJK Combined Chamfer & Reamer Tool

Instructions

- Remove your existing MFT table top and then replace the front and rear rails with Festool item no. 496824. - Highly Recommended: Install the Festool Cross Brace MFT 3-QT, this will add stability to the mega-sized MFT. - Cut out the table top using a track saw to the exact dimensions of 718mm by 2042mm. - Add Shaper tape and using the grid feature, align the origin file to fit the table top. - Cut the mounting holes for the threaded inserts in each corner, use a hex wrench to install the inserts. - Cut the remaining holes in the top of the table. If you choose to not cut some holes, make the decision carefully as you cannot easily go back and cut them later. - Mount the new MFT top on your mega-sized MFT table using the M6 screws you removed in the first step. - Less Recommended: Chamfer all edges using a 45 degree router bit. - Highly Recommended: Use the UJK Combined Chamfer & Reamer to make your 20mm holes precisely and consistently dimensioned. If you do not use the reamer tool, you will need to experiment with your own bench dogs to finely tune the "20mm" hole size.
