Instructions

A few points • You can make your chalkboard/magnet board whatever size you like. I made mine 25"x22" • My photos show tenons on my stretchers. I decided to provide drawings without. • You can attach the boards to the legs any way you want. I chose to use L brackets. • I chose to knock the edges down with 80 grit sanding sheets but you could take them to your router table to round off the edges • I used clamps to position my art boards in place and then clamped the piece together to drill holes for the L clamps Legs I cut everything out in full with my shaper origin. I added a bit of spacing to the top leg S tenons to make them fit a little easier. If they are too snug, you risk damaging the half lap upper arm. After pocketing the upper arm (3/8" deep) to create a half lap, I used a chisel to flatten out any weird paths marks left behind. Stretchers: You can keep your half lap joints on the same side or alternate sides (I did mine on alternate sides). You will want to go to 3/8" deep. You will need to clean up the cuts up with a chisel. You may want to add a bit of spacing so they aren't too snug so they won't damage when assembling. Chalkboard and Magnet Board Frames: You can make these any size you like. I cut mine down on my table saw and then assembled then used my festool domino to connect them. I laminated the galvanized metal sheet to the 1/4" plywood sheet and cut it to size with a track saw. I attached both board to the frames with lath screws. I added a elastic cord to the side of the easel with the paper feed to keep the paper held down when the kid draws. Feel free to modify any way you see fit. I am new to woodworking (this is my second build) so I may not have done everything the right way.
