Wood board ~2.75 in wide, ~0.4 in thick (I used a piece of maple offcut)
Dowel (0.25 in)
Shaper Origin with 1/8 in bit
Something to round the edges (ex: sandpaper, router, Dremel)
General Notes: You can either drill the hole for the dowel before or after cutting with Origin. Mount such that the fish is adhered for the final pass. Design was inspired by a baby pullover :-) Instructions: 1. Cut the eyes and mouth to 0.12 in depth. Mouth is cut on-line and eyes are cut inside. Depending on scaling and bit used, you may need to use on-tool design on get the eyes the right size. Simply create a circle and center it on the existing eye. 2. Cut the first few bear and fish passes with a 0.01 in offset. Cut the final pass without an offset to get a smooth edge. 3. Smooth over edges with a manual sanding, a router, or Dremel. I used a Dremel. 4. If not pre-drilled, drill holes for dowel 5. Finish if desired. If toy is expected to be chewed on, be careful with the finish choice. I either leave it unfinished or use 1:3 Beeswax:Mineral Oil 6. Insert dowel through Bear and Fish, and glue in place. You may need to sand the dowel to get free movement. Saw off excess dowel. Enjoy!
