Instructions

The face of the medallions were made exclusively on the Shaper Origin. The original drawing was made in AutoCad, exported out as a DXF, then imported into Studio and adjusted for milling. - Using a 20 degree profile cutter at .02’ deep, online milling for the fine lines. - Next I used a 15 degree profile cutter with a .05” flat tip to mill the outline of the bird and bat then gradually offset away from the bird and bat. - Then I cleaned out the rest with a typical .125” upshear cutter. - Finally I used a .25” typical upshear cutter to mill the perimeter of the medallion. - I used a bearing bit for rabets on the back side to bury the medallion into the face of the desk .25”. All other desk parts were milled in a Weeke 5’x12’ CNC table. But could be milled on the Shaper Origin.
