I couldn't find a template for cutting switch, outlet, or coaxial cover plates, so I made a file containing a ton of standard U.S. configurations in multiple cover plate sizes. There is a single file with all of he templates I made, and there are a few files for some individual covers, which I neede to make sooner rather than later. Ultra - 5.5" wide x 7.5" high Jumbo - 4.5" wide x 6.38" high Oversized - 3.5" wide x 5.5" high Mid - 3.25" wide x 5.06" high Standard - 2.75" wide x 4.5" high

Each of the templates use guide lines to show the outline of the various sizes, just set the guide lines of the size you wish to the cut types you'd like to cut. To modify the files or make your own, the standard size has a dimension of 1-3/8" from edge to center of the screw location on a single gang unit. If you are setting up for multiple gang units, the dimension from center to center of the screw holes is 1-7/8". The cover shown in the pictures is the Jumbo size, and was cut using a 1/8" spiral upcut bit, and a 1/4" diameter fluting bit at an offset to add some decoration. The back side of the cover plate will need to be pocketed at a depth of at least 1/6" - possibly more. I used an offset of 1/4" of the outside perimeter and it seems to work fine. Overall cut time was about 5 minutes total for the front and back combined.
