Instructions

Great scrap wood project. The guitar I produced measures 24"L x 10"W x 1". I glued up scrap 1/2 pieces of poplar to create the blank, but you can easily start with 6/4 or 5/4 lumber to produce the same effect. The neck piece measured 27"L x 5.5W", while the body piece were 12"L x 5.5"W. The extra width gives the SO extra stability when making the outline cut. I suggest making an outside cut to establish the outline. I cut a total of 10mm in multiple passes. I cut the pickups and knobs at 3mm deep. I plan on filling with resin. FYI, the tuning pegs are not spaced far enough apart to flush trim, so cut them off with a jigsaw when you liberate the guitar from the blank. I added the "Devil Horns" and lettering after establishing the outline. It's totally optional, but this is a gift for a badass 2 1/2 year old daughter, so why not go the extra step and personalize? Once the outline is established, use a jigsaw to cut out the guitar, then flush trim. A spindle sander will help to get into the curves of the guitar body.
