My taekwondo belt holder I made with a laser. The pieces are individually cut out with a laser. The words are cut from Tigerwood and the splashes are cut from Ash and colored red and blue with marker. The background is a solid piece of Purpleheart I had laying around leftover from another project. I adapted the files for use on Origin, now I can do a much larger piece for the wall of my Dojang!

whatever material you feel comfortable working with. I would use 1/4" plywood and scale it to whatever dimension you wish

1. Score the "Taekwondo" letters, splashes and the individual trigrams. You will need to do this first, so your piece doesn't move. This will allow you to set the scale for the rest. When you cut the individual pieces out, you will have a template for where to glue them. 2. Cut out the letters and the splashes to fit. I would re-scan your workspace before you cut. You will want to see the score lines you made. Change out the material and snap the pieces you intend to cut to fit, make the pieces just a little bigger than the score lines, and you won't see the lines. Cut each piece and set aside. Tip: I have a table setup with tape all around my work area. the work piece in the middle is interchangeable, with shims to change the height, putting spoil boards beneath the work piece.
