I made these custom drawer pulls for a router table build. I was inspired by the nifty Detroit Red Wings pulls Jay Bates has in his shop. There was a lot of tear out from my brittle birch plywood. I would try a hardwood or clear pine if I were to do this again. The cut time is for making 9 of these.

1/2" birch plywood
1/2" plastic spacers
2" long 8-32 screws with nuts and washers
1 can of white primer spray paint
1 can of white gloss enamel spray paint
red & black enamel paint
Shaper Origin
60º V-bit
1/8-inch spiral upcut bit
I first did all the engraving with the V-bit at a depth of 1/16th inch. The cutting was done with an 1/8-inch bit taking 1/8-inch deep passes. I cleaned up and hand-sanded each piece before painting a layer of white automotive primer on the front and back sides. I planned to epoxy plastic spacers to the backs, with nuts embedded in the plastic, but felt it wouldn't hold up over time. Instead, I drilled and counter sunk for two 2-inch 8-32 screws, 3 inches apart, from the front side and epoxied them in place. I then sprayed the front and sides with white enamel paint. This covered the screw heads as well. The lettering and outline were then hand painted. I 3D printed 1/2-inch spacers (3/4-inch cylinders with a hole for an 8-32 screw) and put them in place to attach to the drawer fronts.
