I got tired of tear out on my cuts so I made a sacrificial fence and a zero clearance insert. Here is the design for the sacrificial fence. I used the design by FlipFlopWoodworks for the ZCI which is also on the Shaperhub with the title of "Kapex 120 REB Zero Clearance Insert"

Use stock that is at least 560mm wide x 125mm high x 10mm thick. Make sure it is flat. Melamine or baltic birch plywood is good. I used bamboo flooring.
1/8 inch upcut bit
1/4 inch upcut bit
Engraving bit (optional)
I designed this fence for my Kapex which was built in 2015. The measurements might be different for newer models. Just check in case you have to modify the SVG file. 1) Measure the diameters of your screw head, and screw. Modify those diameters on your SVG file as needed. Just make sure that the center of the circles does not change in the design. I used a bolt with a washer. The washer diameter was 13mm and the bolt diameter was 6mm. 2) Cut the holes for the screws. I used helix mode. 2) Make the pockets for the washers. Measure the depth of the screw or bolt head and washer that you will use to determine the depth of the pocket you will make. Make sure you cut a few mm deeper than that measurement so that the bolt head ends up beneath the fence surface. In my case cut to 6.8 mm. Once the pocket is made, do an inline cut to final size. 3) Cut the outline of the fence in one big piece. Start with a 0.3 mm offset. If you use a 1/8 inch bit, you will have to to do 3 passes. Then to a final pass at 0 offset. Once cut, the final size of the board is 554mm x 120mm. With a 1/4 inch bit, it will take only 2 passes. 4) Optional. Because you love your Shaper so much, engrave a nice image on your fence. Those are my poodles. 5) Align the outside edges of the metal Kapex fences as noted in the diagram. 6) Optional. If you make a ZCI, this is when you would install it. 7) Attach the fence with screws and washers. Make sure the screws DO NOT protrude from the front of the fence. I used a bolts with threads a tad bit smaller than 6mm and with a washer a tad bit smaller that 13mm in diameter. 8) Enjoy your beautiful Kapex that cannot do angled cuts or just remove the fences if you don't want to destroy them. I just do crosscuts, so I am happy. Cheers!
