Instructions

I start by using the 1/8" cutter to cut the circle for the mirror . . . (Online Cut) at 0.1825 depth . . the mirror I use is 1/8" thick . . . More detail about the material for the mirror below. I then do a (Pocket Cut) same depth to complete the circle for the mirror. Next I use the 1/4" inch cutter to cut the outline of the mirror (outside line) Hand Held Mirror . . . . I designed this mirror a couple of years ago and have made many of them using The Fantastic Shaper! I sell a few items from time to time - but, I always give away more than I sell. I am a retired Vietnam Vet and I love working with this amazing machine! So, I would like to share with the Hub this nice very easy to make Hand Held Mirror that - so far, everyone that has received one loves it! I usually use Black Walnut or Sapele Mahogany wood to make my mirrors - you can use whatever works for you. You could also “glue” up more than one species and do some fun stuff! Start out with a thickness of 3/4” - so, that after you flatten (mill) your board and router the edge and do your sanding you will still have at least a 1/2” thickness. Also, I use Mirrored Acrylic as it is much safer than glass and lighter! I do use a Glowforge Laser to cut my acrylic mirror - I have been told that the Shaper could handle this. Although, I have not tried it yet. I use a 1/8” thick acrylic. I have also designed and make a kids version (little girl) with Pig Tails . . . I will include that SVG as well . . .
