For anyone using the ButtonFix(R) fixings for removable assemblies, this is the pocket shape that needs to be routed to get the Type1 Fitting to flush mount in a panel. Optionally, you can only route the oval shape to have the fitting sitting on the circumference. I have no relation to ButtonFix(R), am just using their stuff when it is convenient.

Materials

min. thickness: 10mm recommended.

Tools

8mm router bit (max 12mm to keep corned radius)

Instructions

I wanted to keep the fit very flush. I needed to route the final pass with a "-0.5mm" offset (larger than the file) for both pockets. This gave me a very flush fit. For depth settings (guides in file): - inner oval: min. 8mm ( I prefer 9mm to have some room) - outer shape: min. 3mm ( I prefer 3.5mm)
