These are 5x2' fracture proof mirrors I created for my granddaughters (21/2 & 41/2y), both of whom have become fashionistas, changing their clothes constantly & checking out how they look in their mother's mirror. The dinosaurs are their latest addiction.
- 3.5" x 3/4" pine for frames
- Various types of wood & thicknesses (walnut, burl, osage orange) for the dinosaurs
- 1/16 & 1/2 &1/4" up cut, solid carbide router bits
- earth magnets (1/4" dia)
Shaper Origin, table saw, router with edge guide, jointer/ planer, band saw
Easy enough, but patience is needed when trying to remove dinosaurs from the 2-way tape when finished with Shaper. I eventually ended up just cutting the tape I had, to 1/2" wide strips & using it mostly as small pcs under the thinner parts of each dinosaur (neck, fins, legs/ feet, etc.) - this was tedious, because you are trying to figure out where you going to place your svg file, but then putting your tape down where you've decided it should go, before you actually have placed the image you're planning to cut vs just putting lots of tape under the entire board you're cutting.
