The MagSafe Duo is nice, especially if you're on the road folding it up and stashing it in a pocket. But at home you want something nicer. This a wooden base for the charger worthy of your nightstand.

- (8) 10mm magnets (optional)

- (4) Felt/rubber feet (optional)

- 5 minute epoxy (optional)

Tools

- Shaper Origin

- Router with pattern bit (optional)

Instructions

The inside shape was created with no offset, so you'll want to add one which gives your charger a nice fit. 0.5mm worked for me. It's cut 7.5mm deep. The optional magnets help to hold the charger in place. The magnet holes are 10mm in diameter, so use an offset if your magnets are a different size. My 10mm magnets fit with a 0.1mm offset, 3mm below the bottom of the inner pocket. Use the 5 minute epoxy to secure the magnets in place. Before gluing the magnets, put them on the 8 corners of the charger bottom. This will indicate which magnet face to install downward, as the magnets are polarized. Complete the project with some sanding, finish, and some felt or rubber feet.
