I made a lap-desk for my MacBook Pro. This SVG can be resized to fit your laptop.

Materials

12"x15" hardwood, or 3/4" ply probably sufficient.

Tools

Shaper Origin

1/4" bit

Router

Roundover Bit

Jigsaw (optional)

Sandpaper (Optional)

Stain (Optional)

Instructions

Once I cut the file out using my Origin for an outline, and jigsaw for the remaining stock, I took a handheld router with a roundover bit to smooth out the edges, and inside of the handle. Nothing fancy, if you want, you could then sand and stain. I decided to leave this as is, and write this project up using the new laptop pad. I also used a scaled-down 70% version of the same SVG to pocket out the underside to make this lighter as I started with a 2" thick piece of wood, I pocketed out .5" on the underside using Origin. I would go deeper next time, (1.5" ideally) but only had the stock 1/4" bit with max depth of .5".
