UPDATE: After playing some games, I think the depth for the divets should be a bit less, like 0.12. For the game rules, and variants like "capture" see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_checkers This project involved me learning some cool inkscape tricks, along with my first ball router bit project where you make your bit size basically identical to your shape size to get a plunge only cut for the divets. Each divet is set to 0.126. This allows the shaper to think that an inside cut with the 1/8th (0.125) bit size will just fit. My circles were all needing to change size, but stay in the same location. I found this post which solves this perfectly in inkscape: https://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/132968/how-to-set-the-same-size-of-a-set-of-selected-objects-in-inkscape/132989#132989 The bit I'm using is NOT 1/8th inch though. It is a 0.5 inch ball router bit I got here: Wolfride 4pcs Core Box Router Bit 1/4 Inch Shank Round Nose Cove Box Router Bits https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0814CN26D/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_HD20EJ1CVMY1N3KN10GY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 It works perfectly to just start the cut with shaper, wait for it to reach a depth set to 0.15 inches, and then retract. For the ball capture pockets I used the shaper 1/4 inch upcut bit. These are pretty normal cuts. Just did a pocket cut and final cut for the capture spots at two depths. 0.25 deep first, and 0.4 inch deep for final. For the logos, I used the shaper 1/8 inch upcut bit. These are just inside cuts to 1/8 inch deep. You can use whatever to fill in. I used epoxy and some glow in the dark pigment for fun. The balls are chrome steel. I got them here: Multi-Colored 1/2" Chrome Steel Balls for GraviTrax Marble Run | High-Visibility Steel Marble Set Great for Racing, Rolling & Games | Colored Marbles Compatible with Marble Runs & Games | 20 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094BYCTD8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_J3XESVXP369CYJ9MZPCB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I did a simple all around round over bit (1/4 inch) around both sides of board, for nicer feel. Totally optional. I may in the future add small magnets on each home base of 10 spots. Just a simple 1/8 inch hole in the bottom, for some disk magnets I have. Would be a nice addition I think to avoid losing them. Not sure on stain yet. Maybe just natural (again)
