I made this box for my brother's birthday. Cherry and figured Poplar.

3/8" x 3 1/2" x 26" wood of your choice

1/8" Spiral Upcut bit

1/16" bit - optional

Engraving bit - optional

Instructions

Straightforward project. Cut sides first and fit them. I used a chisel to square up the corners but you could use a 1/16" bit on the final pass instead. Cut the top and bottom then fit them as well. Do not glue the bottom. I used a small trim nail in the center of each tenon and filled the holes with a dowel. Chamfer the exposed tenons to your liking with a chisel or sandpaper or... *If you want a wider chamfer than I used I recommend doing that before final assembly. Engrave if you desire then finish with your favorite cocktail. Great project for scrap.
