I made this for a friend who has been carrying around a broken mirror for a year now. She loves the beach thus the shell shape. Created in Studio.

Materials

3 1/4" x 3" wood of your choice - thickness is up to you - I recommend 1/4"-3/8"

1/8" Acrylic mirror material - got mine on Amazon

Tools

Shaper Origin

1/8" spiral upcut bit

1/8" O-flute bit

Engraving bit

Instructions

Cut the acrylic mirror pieces. This one is scaled for 1 7/8" but you can adjust the parameters in your favorite program. Mill wood to your chosen thickness. Scan, grid and set the anchor to upper left. Place the file at 0 on the Y axis and whatever your height is for X. Pocket out the mirror recess then sneak up on the fit using offsets if necessary. Use one of your mirrors to test. Now cut the shell out using an outside cut. *Save your offcuts. If you are going to engrave the back, take the *offcuts and use them to create a jig to hold the shell. Scan, grid, place and cut your engraving. Sand, finish and give away.
