This project provide a way to mount Legrand double floor sockets flush with the floor (or another surface: in the right context, they are also nice on walls and table tops). As an added bonus, it makes aligning the screw holes easier.

Tools

Shaper Origin (+ Tape)

6 mm endmill

3 mm endmill

larger endmill (optional)

80 mm hole saw (optional)

Instructions

0) Tape, scan, make a grid, position the file where you want your sockets to be. 1) Cut both the two batibox profiles (see https://hub.shapertools.com/creators/5e7cb1e0c8f2b1000fb45f08/shares/633b100e45d009190bd324a9 for instructions / options if needed). 2) Cut the large pocket (2mm depth). Using a larger bit makes this faster, but it is still pretty quick with a 6mm (or 1/4") endmill as most of the pocket surface was actually already removed at step 1. 3) Finish the pocket first with the 6mm bit and a positive offset, then with the 3mm endmill, adusting the offset as needed. 4) Install the hardware and do the wiring. [Update, 2022-10-30: added a version with depth encoding - UNTESTED]
