Instructions

Seat made from .9" sassafras dimensions 11" wide, 12" deep Chair seat height 11.5" Rear leg height 19" Cut leg patterns using .svg files (Created on Inkscape) & Shaper Origin in 1/4" MDF. Used pattern to outline legs on 6/4 walnut, bandsawed close to lines then used pattern router to cut leg edges Using workstation, positioned front legs and cut S tenon .svg pattern in tops of legs to depth of seat. Then used same pattern to cut mortises (from the bottom) in seat. Adjusted & refined size of mortise using leg tenons to test fit Similar operation to cut crest S pattern using 2nd S .svg (prior to cutting shape of crest) Rear seat to rear leg joinery done with on-tool rectangle design cut into rear of seat on each side. Then used same pattern to cut mortises into front face of rear legs. Rounded over edges, sanded to 220, glued with Titebonnd III and finished with Osmo Extremely sturdy chair meant to stand up to energetic children Additional photos link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/m2otf3qVWFxP9cHv7 Also made a Sharing table to go with these chairs Will need to post as 2nd project as it contains a handful of fun details such as the overlapping S inlay on the top, frame sliding dovetails and what I called S-tails to join floating framework to the legs
