Materials

2 pieces of wood of the same thickness, size depends on the size of the final desk you'd like.

Tools

Shaper Origin, sandpaper (orbital sander), wood glue, veneer

Instructions

I made this as part of shelves on a wall, but you could easily add legs / just use the desk. Cut the large part and the small part out of wood of the same thickness - make sure to set up your work well to get a clean cut so the 2 pieces will fit together well. Once cut, apply wood glue generously to both parts and clamp together till the glue has hardened (check the glue you use for the proper time). Then cut the pockets for the butterfly inlays (or other shapes, depending on your taste) and cut the matching pieces in another piece of wood. You can use a different color wood (like I did) to get a nice contrast, or simply use the same wood to make them less apparent . I used the butterfly inlays from Shaper - (https://hub.shapertools.com/creators/5b437481a92ce901517c0655/shares/59eec93da92ce9014344b5cb) and added inlay strips of wood at the bottom to strengthen the desk
