Prepare Your Workspace
Ensure that you have sufficient tape beneath the area where you will cut out the top, back, and bottom panels. After cutting them out, you will leave them in place and use the ShaperTape that is on them while cutting out the side panels.
Cut Out Top, Bottom and Back Panels
Using a 1/4" cutter, make outside cuts around the the top, bottom, and back panels:
-1st pass: .25" depth, .01" offset
-2nd pass: .5" depth, .01" offset
-3rd pass: .73" depth, .01" offset
-Finishing pass: .77" depth, 0 offset
Cut the Pockets in the Side Panels
Using a 1/4" cutter, cut the pockets:
-1st pass: .25" depth
-Finishing pass: .377" depth
Cut the Slots in the Side Panels
Using a 1/4" cutter, cut the slots on both panels to a final depth of 9/16”.
Because these are on-line cuts, you will need to start your cut at one end of the line.
-1st pass: .25" depth
-2nd pass: .5" depth
-Finishing pass: .563" depth
[Optional:] If desired, you can cut these slots slightly deeper to accommodate the 260 mm blades used by the Festool Kapex KS 120 Miter Saw.
Cut Out the Side Panels
Using a 1/4" cutter, make outside cuts around the side panels:
-1st pass: .25" depth, .01" offset
-2nd pass: .5" depth, .01" offset
-3rd pass: .73" depth, .01" offset
-Finishing pass: .77" depth, 0 offset
Remove the Pieces, Sand and Dry-Fit
Ensure that your blades fit as desired.
