Instructions

NOTE: There are two sets of files in the project. One is for the 7" deep rack that I made in the video where the bottles stick out the front and back a bit. The others are for a 10" deep version where only a little bit of the neck of the bottle with stick out the front. You could put a back on this version if you'd like. These files are set up for the use of the Freud Dovetail bit with a 3/8" base and a 9 degree angle. Item 22-102 Step 1: -Setup on the workstation shelf and cut the slots for the glasses in one of the shelves. -Use the shelf again to cut the half circles for the bottle rack. -Use the 1/8" roundover bit on all of the rack parts so that it fits into the mortise later on. -Also round over one edge of the Back material. Step 2: -Set up one of the shelves into workstation to cut the dovetail -Place the dovetail file using the custom anchor point at x=0" y=0" -NOTE: only plunge and retract in the safe zones to the far left and far right of the file -Depth = 0.325" -Bit Diameter = 0.27" -First pass offset = 0.01" -Second = 0" -Repeat on both shelves Step 3: -Setup with a ShaperTape board the same thickness as your material. -Make a grid and place both the left and right files using the custom anchor point. -There are many decorative cutouts that you can choose whether or not to use. -Cut the rabbet joints: -Depth = 0.325" -Cut the mortises for the bottle rack -Depth = 0.34" -For the sliding dovetail rails, it helps to clear out as much material as you can with your stock 1/4" cutter first. -Depth = 0.325" -Offset = 0.02" -Use the dovetail bit and sneak up on the perfect fit. Step 4: -Glue and assemble -After the glue dries, I recommend adding some dowel reinforcement to the rabbet joints for added strength. -Sand, finish and enjoy!
