A simple bench design with a Shaper inspired top. I've included the top cut-out. The legs were traditionally built with dominoes to add to the strength.

Domino Joiner
I planed and sanded the Maple prior to the cut-out. The cutting time was about 50 minutes for four passes. I did the first three cuts with an .03 offset and the final set at zero to get the cleanest edge I could. The thought of having to sand each of these openings was a real concern. I did have some cleanup, but for the most part the edges were great.
I mounted the top to the base with glue and dominoes. The exterior dominoes were tight, I made the interior dominoes larger to accommodate movement in the wood.
