Different jigs for routing a mortise or other router projects. One, specific to a Festool OF1400, mounts the router to the plate. Others utilize a hole or slot to capture a guide bushing (files for Festool 30mm & 40mm copy rings and Porter Cable style 1" bushing). Inspired by the below linked video (not my video), I've added center marks and switched from having the router mounted to the plate to utilizing guide bushings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IMDZ2vs8NM

If you use Acrylic, make sure it is cast and not extruded. On the OF1400 specific jig, the threaded studs, used as optional centering pins (from McMaster), are longer than the Acrylic is thick so you'll need to cut back the threaded portion. The M6 screws you'll need to affix the OF1400 should be no less than 16mm and no longer than 20mm; cut the counter sink to a depth of 5mm. The dimensions in the files that capture guide bushings/copy rings are sized exact; use negative offsets to sneak up on the fit for your bushing. With Acrylic, use a low plunge speed and take light passes; I did all my cut depths in 3mm increments. To get crisp guide lines with the engraving bit, take three passes at 0.3mm each pass. The edges of the acrylic tend to be sharp. I eased all edges with a 1mm round over. Use your choice of hardwood for the fences. Also included is the Sketchup file I worked from if you need to make any adjustments particular to your needs.
