One of Woodpeckers “One Time Tools” that I had considered buying was their 2096 workholding kit; now, I can make my own! I used what I had on hand (1/2 MDF) for a test run. It works as expected, but I’m skeptical as to the longevity of MDF in this application. I’ve ordered a phenolic plate (as that is what the Woodpeckers version is crafted from) from which to make another set. The file fits a standard MFT top (20mm holes – 96mm on center)

I used an 8mm upcut spiral, but any cutter should suffice
While you can cut the entire project with the SO, I only cut the outline to a 3mm depth, finished the straight cuts on the band saw and flushed them up on the router table.
