These Halloween tombstone files were made for the X-carve but work great with Shaper Origin. They came from the project at https://inventables.com/projects/halloween-tombstones

Materials

Foam insulation board. I used 2" polyiso but other types of form would also work.

Tools

- Serrated blade to cut out the designs

- Light gray and dark gray latex paint

- Heat gun (or hair dryer)

Instructions

I cut everything using a 1.5 mm bit at a depth of 8 mm. Most of the cuts will default to "outside" but you'll want to experiment with how you want to cut it. It is a very forgiving project. You can just about get a way with cutting everything "online" if you want and the letters will come readable. I cut most of the text using an inside cut (of the outside of the letter) and then an outside cut of the internal letter shapes, followed by a pocket cut. After all the cuts were finished, I used a serrated blade to cut along the outline to free the tombstone from the sheet. I ran a heat gun over everything to age it and clean up the rough edges but I don't know if it was necessary. I painted it with dark gray latex house paint on all the pockets and light gray on everything else. I put some wooden dowels in the bottom that stuck out a few inches. They stuck in the ground to keep the tombstones standing up straight.
