Systainer foam modification to accommodate stowing Origin with the BenchPilot harness attached in the Systainer. Includes files for both Gen1 and Gen2 Origins/Systainers. Note: milling away the stock foam will diminish the protective properties of the factory Systainer, reducing its ability to protect Origin during transport or shipping.

WARNING: PLEASE READ BEFORE MODIFYING ORIGIN’S SYSTAINER FOAM Modifying Origin’s Systainer foam may compromise the original structural integrity of the foam and its protective attributes. By proceeding with the modification outlined in this project, you are accepting the risks associated with the modifications. As a reminder: BenchPilot’s harness is removable from Origin using hand tools provided with BenchPilot. Removing the BenchPilot harness is a valid and most recommended way to stow and protect Origin during transport or shipping. First remove the foam at the bottom of the Systainer Origin came in. To do this pop out the Systainer lid hinge pins, one on each side. then the foam is simple to remove. Gen1: Trim flush the raised support in the rear ( see image above ) I secured the foam to the Shelf Upgrade Kit with double sided tape. Then gridded the edge of the origin base cavity for alignment. Then carefully mill down to the encoded depths with a long cutter. Gen2: Same as Gen1, with the following differences: The foam is too thick to fit on the workstation shelf. so will need alternate fixturing to align a tape field with the top surface of the foam. You will not need to trim the top to get a flat surface to work on.
