designed to house: scrapers: https://www.lie-nielsen.com/products/handscrapers-hand-scraper-set-?path=handscrapers&node=4181 spokeshave: https://www.lie-nielsen.com/products/1-sp-boggs-f-boggs-spokeshaves?path=spokeshaves&node=4091 If you want the dowels to be inserted blind rather than the whole way though Place the file , and copy / mirror it for the opposing side. if you want to cut the dowels through ( as pictured ) just place the file twice. first cut the two narrow slots using the 1/8" cutter then switch to the 1/4" cutter and cut your dowel holes test fit dowels, ( they are seldom the exact dimension they claim to be. ) confirm dowel lengths, glue and fit. magic
