Questions? Made one? Discussion? https://community.shapertools.com/t/parametric-lumber-rack/2535 Attached is a Fusion 360 file to generate the side and face profiles for the tenons to the exact sizes of your stock. `1) Cut the Tenons: - Get your stock to the size you would like for the tenons. I ended up doing this by cutting my wood into pieces long enough to create 2 tenons per piece I cut - Use bandsaw to cut the diagonal lines for each of the pieces to generate 2 tenons. - (Alternatively just export the side profile of your generated tenon and cut with Origin) - Go into the attached F3D file and edit the paramters after measuring your stock (it will automatically generate the tenon for you) - Export the profile of the tenon from Fusion and get it to your tool - Use the vertical workstation to setup your tenons - Create a grid and place the file - Cut tenons and replace the stock until you are done 2) Create the Mortises: - Get stock ready, size can be bigger than the tenons, but I kept it all the same to save some time. - I just did this all on tool, but you could also use the export from fusion to create a file by placing the files from the tenons In a file a set number of spaces apart. - You can adjust the sizes of the mortise to fit each individual tenon for a perfect fit. 3) Glue: - I put glue in the mortises and used deadblow hammer to nail it home. It seems pretty strong and has been working now for a few weeks. This is my first parametric design, so let me know if it doesn't work in all situation and I can try to update/modify it. I attached an example SVG that will fit a 2x4ft piece of wood, and color coded it correctly for Origin. Questions/Comments?
