1/4 inch thick material (wood or plastic, I used foam PVC) Bits Dowel (for the perch) Glue
This is a simple project that utilizes 1/4 inch thick material to create a cool birdbox that has a unique way of attaching to the tree. The box is all glued together, but the back of the box is screwed into the tree, it allows you to easily remove the box aftewards and also keeps it securely attached to the tree. I honestly have no idea if the foam PVC will work, we will see. 1) I cut all the holes for the front face (so you don't forget in the end like I did!!!) 2) cut the dados/groves (.125 inch depth) 3) rough cut the exterior profiles (.22 inch depth + some offset) 4) finish cut the exterior profiles (.25 inch depth + 0 offset) 5) glue the front and the sides pieces together with the 2 inner pieces 6) screw the back piece into the tree with a few of the offset circles cut out so it's "backed off the tree a bit" 7) slide the entire house down over the back piece, it will lock in when it hits the top.
