Materials

1. 3/4" White Oak board, at least 18" wide

Tools

1. 3/4" cutter

2. 3/4" bullnose cutter

Instructions

1. Cut the pocket to 1/4" depth, making sure to work from left to right, applying consistent pressure on the side with available material. Getting the pocket bottom completely level will require patience and skill. 2. Switch to inside cut and using the bullnose cutter, follow the path to create a radiused lip. 3. Cut the outside path, in 1/4" passes with a 0.03" offset. Switch to 0" for the finish pass.
